Team Member Spotlight of the Month: Sara

At Piece with Ease, our mission comes to life through the hard work and dedication of our team. This month, I am thrilled to bring attention to Sara Jung, our Vice President.

For Sara, the heart of her role is connection with our seniors. “My favorite part of working with Piece with Ease is the workshops where I can meet new faces and share the joy of making origami,” she shared.

Whether she’s in front of the room guiding the audience with step-by-step folding instructions or chatting alongside the senior participants, Sara’s approach to teaching origami lessons is rooted in patience, encouragement, and genuine passion for our nonprofit’s mission.

Additionally, Sara added that she adores “seeing how the seniors express their creativity and seeing the smiles on their faces.”

A time that stood out to her happened during a workshop at the Korean Community Center. As Sara helped an elderly man perfect his origami dog, he turned to her and said that she reminded him of his granddaughter. His casual comparison sparked a moment of laughter between him and Sara, and soon the table of seniors joined them in giggling and sharing stories of their own grandchildren, and other fond memories with their loved ones. The simple exchange provoked a chain of laughter and smiles unforgettable for Sara.

Outside of her role with Piece with Ease, Sara spends her free time volunteering with children on the autism spectrum. At her various volunteering spaces, she brings the same patience, compassion, and kindness that she does to our workshops.

Our team is grateful for her reliability, her kind spirit, and her positive attitude. Thank you, Sara, for all you do—you truly are a vital piece of Piece With Ease.
